Our October Pause
In Solidarity with the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel

During this time of war against the Palestinian people and literal genocide, we have decided to pause October’s online discussion of readings from Hammer and Hope. The situation for Palestinians is growing more dire by the minute and our eyes, ears, and attention are on Palestine and the many efforts to resist. Worldwide, people are taking to the streets, speaking out against the atrocities being committed by the Israeli government, and calling out the complicity and inaction of the US government and others who are aiding, abetting, and funding genocide.
As the publication selected for October’s readings are selections from “a project rooted in the power of solidarity, the spirit of struggle and the generative power of debate,” we wanted to highlight Hammer and Hope’s decision to join the Palestinian campaign for an academic and cultural boycott of Israel.
Also, we want to encourage everyone to learn more about The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement that works to end international support for Israel's oppression of Palestinians and pressure Israel to comply with international law.
Stay tuned for our November selection this Thursday, November 2, which will give us all an opportunity to delve deeper into the movement for Palestinian liberation which is ultimately a liberation movement for us all.
