We hope you can join us on Monday, August 28 at 6:00 PM Eastern for a live, virtual discussion about our inaugural summer read, Assata: An Autobiography.

It’s hard to believe Toward Liberation launched nearly 6 weeks ago and we’re already here at our first virtual meeting! We’re very excited to be in community with you and hear your thoughts and reflections. As we’ve shared in prior messages, Assata Shakur has been a deeply meaningful inspiration to both of us and in many ways has been the inspiration that launched Toward Liberation.

If you’ve read Assata previously, we hope you’ve discovered new meaning this time around, and if it is new to you, we hope you’ve been as inspired and as moved as we have been not only by her words, but also by her life’s work and dedication to moving us to a place where freedom is truly a reality.

In advance of our virtual meeting, be thinking of your favorite quote from the book, which we’ll ask you to share when we meet. We’ll also send out a few questions that we’ll be discussing in advance of the meeting to those who register.
